WMH Help Guide (a must read!)

I thought I'd make a navigation/ get started guide for those unfamiliar with the blog and all of it's features. It has many features which allows you to interact and be apart of the site. There's a chatroom/forum, a monthly newletter, and much more.Below is a screen shot each section I will be giving you a "tour" of is numbered.

1.The FOLLOW Button
This button allows you to follow our blog. The perks? New posts will be conveniently displayed on your blogger dashboard along with other sites you've "followed". You can follow publicly or privately.

2. The Community Section
IMO it's the greatest part of this site. This section allows you to interact with other readers, ask questions, answer questions, start "challenges", give reviews, share your experiences, request tutorials, and much more. It can be used the same way a forum is. You can sign in as a guest with a screen name, or with your facebook and twitter name. You can also remain anonymous. On Wednesdays at 8pm (Eastern Time) we will also have a "full" site chat/ discussion on a topic.  If you would like to continue reading the site AND chatting scroll down and on the side bar (picture below) there is a mini chat widget. You can read the blog and still interact.
3. The Navigation Bar
Makes visiting our blog and finding information a BREEZE. (The search bar is also very helpful)Every post is categorized and is under the "related tab". Each tab drops down into multiple sections just put your mouse over the section you wish to visit or expand. If you are new to your hair growth journey the "Educate" tab is a great place to start out. The "Our Hair" tab are posts related to our hair (Kara & Misha's hair) it includes length checks and our regimen. The FAQ tab is where all "Frequently Asked Questions" are posted. We pick one that is sent to us via the chatroom or email (whipmyyhair@gmail.com) and answer it. The Contest tab has information, and updates about any current, upcoming, or past contests and GIVE AWAYS we've had. Check that tab OFTEN. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

Make Up Monday - How To Clean Your Brushes

We wash our towels, wash clothes, undergarments, and clothes right? So why wouldn't you wash your make up brushes? Would you really want to put dirty brushes on a face you wash more than twice a day? Nope, this is just putting the dead skin, bacteria, oil, and old make up right back on. Surprisingly, this is a very important step that many people leave out. The make up left behind from previous applications also makes your brushes feel rough, old, and, hard. You'll find after you wash them, the softness returns!

Things you'll need

  • A Sink, Bowl, or Glass
  • Baby Shampoo or Wash
  • Make up Brushes
Step 1
Gather all of your brushes, place them under the faucet, and rinse them off.

Step 2
Fill the sink, glass, or bowl up with lukewarm water and squirt some of the baby shampoo/ wash into the water.

Step 3Squirt the baby shampoo/ wash into the palm of your hand and rub it on the tip of the brushes. Lather.

Step 4

Insert the brushes into the water and allow them to soak for 1-2 hours. ( You may soak them for less or more time, it's personal choice)

Step 5
Take the brushes out of the water, and gently dab them on a paper towel. (Make sure the brush hairs are smoothed down the right way) Place the brushes on the paper towel and allow them to fully dry.

DONE, NOW ENJOY YOUR SOFT & CLEAN BRUSHES.

HAPPY MAKE UP MONDAY!!!

How to get rid of bags and dark circles under your eyes

I've been asked a lot lately about remedies for bags and dark circles under the eye. First, let's take a look at what causes them.

CAUSES:
For some people, dark circles, come as part of a genetic package, while for others, these symptoms appear and fade in relation to everyday activities. The causes of dark circles and bags vary, but mostly they are due to blood vessel coloring in relation to skin pigmentation, under-eye fluid retention and age.
Main causes diets, sleep habits, fluid retention, aging, and medical conditions.

In case you don't know, these are what bags look like.
REMEDIES TO FIX THEM
Cold water is always good for bags and to minimize the look of enlarged pours.

1. EYE CREAM
Using an eye cream in the morning and at night will help treat dark circles. An eye cream with caffenine is ideal because it tightens your skin and it REDUCES bags. While applying the cream you're also able to press the bones in that area and drain the fluid that caused the bags to begin with. Olay has a cream out for this.

2.CUCUMBERS
Refrigerate a cucumber then, wash and slice it. Lay down with the slices on your eyes for 30 minutes with your feet elevated. Then rinse your eyes with COLD water.

3. POTATO SLICES
Raw potatoes have a high concentration of starch this helps it act as an inflammatory to reduce redness and swelling. They also contain acid which lightens skin so this is also good for those dark circles.
Refrigerate the potato for a while, after slice it and spray water on your eyes. Place the potato slices on your eyes and lay down with your feet elevated. Do this for 30 minutes then rinse with COLD water.

4. ICE COLD WATER
Put ice cubes in a bowl of water until the water is freezing. Dip your wash cloth in and lay it over your face. Repeat 3xs.

5.COLD SPOON
Place two cold spoons in the freezer (or keep them there). After they're cold enough (1 hour). Take them out and place the round back of the spoon your eyes for four five minutes. You should notice a diffrence immediately.

6.WITCH HAZEL
Put some Witch Hazel on a cotton ball and pat under your eyes.

7.SLEEP
You'd be surprised at what a full nights sleep will do. Eight hours nothing less.
